Modernize your Krink with JMAC Customs

The Krinkov is one of the most iconic Kalishnikov variants ever designed. From warlords to specialized military personnel, the "Krink" can be seen carried with gusto throughout history. Originally the Krinkov, or AKS-74U, was designed to fire the 5.45x39 round. However, since then, several variants have been made in a variety of calibers including 7.62x39, 5.56x45, and .300 AAC Blackout. What it lacks in barrel length and velocity, it makes up for in reduced weight and improved maneuverability. Its short barrel, folding stock and compact profile make it a popular choice for defensive and recreational shooters alike.

In recent years, as the Krinkov has climbed in popularity, several aftermarket upgrades have been designed to suit the needs of modern society. When compared to the AKM, the Krinkov's design has subtle differences which renders some AKM parts and accessories incompatible. The gas system and unique hinged dust cover require parts that are designed specifically for the Krinkov.

At JMAC Customs, we've designed several options to improve the overall performance of the Krinkov. The first thing you'll notice when firing the Krinkov is the recoil and flash. Due to the short barrel and unburnt powder exiting the muzzle, there is a significant amount of recoil and flash when compared to a 16” AKM.We've designed muzzle devices to mitigate recoil, such as the RRD-4C and 360HD, as well as the FRD (Flash Reduction Device) which removes most of, if not all visible flash from the muzzle. Many of our muzzle devices are compatible with industry standard suppressors and devices such as our BDS (Blast Diversion Shield). The Krinkov uses the same 24x1.5RH threads found on 100 Series Kalashnikov pattern firearms.

The folding stock is a key feature found on the Krinkov. The ability to fold the stock makes it a very compactand portable package. We wanted to retain that ability while offering some improvements over the original design. We've created several options to add our stock and brace options to the Krinkov, to include the RSA, SM, and M4 (buffer tube) adapters. This allows the user to choose which type of stock or brace fits their specific needs. In addition, our cheek risers can be added to our Skeleton and Triangle Stocks as well as our Arm-Bar extensions to achieve the perfect height depending on the optics attached to the firearm.

The factory upper and lower handguard is simple and functional however it does not allow the user to attach accessories such as lights, lasers, and optics. We've designed a version of our MMS (Modular Mounting System) Handguard specifically for the Krinkov. Our MMS Handguard replaces the factory wood or polymer handguard and clamps onto the barrel near the receiver and features M-LOK attachment points and QD sting swivels. This proprietary mounting design transfers less heat to the handguard and improves the inherent accuracy when compared to the factory handguard. In addition, we've designed a Railed Gas Tube to complement the MMS lower. The GT-KRINK or GT-SAM7K (depending on the variant) is designed to complement the MMS lower handguard and allows the user to attach lights, lasers, and optics without permanent modification to the firearm.

For those looking for the ultimate optic mounting solution, the DC-KRINK and DC-SAM7K (depending on the variant) Dust Covers were created. The dust cover works with our MMS handguard lower mount and allows you to replace your hinged dust cover with our 1913 railed dust cover. Our MMS Dust Cover features proprietary recoil spring hardware which allows it to maintain zero, even when the cover is opened and closed when performing maintenance on the internals. The MIL-STD-1913 slots on top of the dust cover will allow the user to attach any combination of optics they choose, to include red dots, scopes, and magnifiers. The possibilities are endless.

Whether you want to keep it simple or go all out, we have the solution for your Krinkov pattern firearm. I've included a photo of my personal Krinkov below, which is a Bulgarian Arsenal SLR107UR, and added links to the parts I used to make unique to my shooting experience.
