Top 3 Suppressor Mounts!
Top 3 Suppressor Mounts!
With the recent release of our new, Plan B compatible, Taper Mount devices, we thought it would be a great idea to take a step back and look at our top 3, suppressor compatible, muzzle device options!
The first muzzle device we offered, with the ability to mount a suppressor, was our KeyMount devices. Licensed by Dead Air Suppressors, KeyMount technology utilizes a tapered surface as well as a mechanical locking mechanism. This two-part system allows the suppressor to securely lock to the muzzle device and the tapered surfaces blocks carbon from exiting the assembly. Carbon-lock occurs when carbon exits the muzzle and builds up on the locking surfaces between the suppressor and muzzle device. The tapered surface on the KeyMount device, mitigate carbon-lock by sealing the system. Dead Air manufactures adapters which work with many industry standard thread pitch options. These adapters make the KeyMount system versatile and allow you to use your favorite suppressors.
Our X-Series line of suppressors is our shortest and lightest option to attach a suppressor to your firearm. X-Series devices are available with 1.375-24 (X37/HUB), 1.125-28 (X12/Alpha), and 1.203-28 (X20/P-Series) external threads. The X-Series allows you to directly attach a suppressor to the muzzle device without the need for mounts or adapters. Since there are no additional mounts or adapters needed, it is also the least expensive way to mount a suppressor to your firearm. The omission of additional mounts and adapters reduces the possibility of misalignment and offers more reliability over time.
Our new Taper Mount devices are compatible with Plan B suppressors, devices, and adapters such as our TA-90T HUB adapter. Taper Mount devices are a great way to attach a suppressor to your firearm and significantly reduce the weight and added length when compared to other suppressor mounting options. Taper Mount devices are an inexpensive and reliable option since they do not consist of any small parts or mechanical locking mechanisms. Like KeyMount devices, Taper Mount uses a tapered surface to attach the suppressor to the muzzle device, and seals the system to mitigate carbon-lock. As most suppressor manufactures are shifting to the industry standard "HUB” threads, Plan B compatible devices are quickly becoming a favorite among suppressor enthusiasts.
Regardless of which suppressor attachment method you prefer, JMAC Customs has you covered. All of our devices are manufactured here in the USA and use high quality 17-4 Stainless Steel and have a Black Nitride finish. To ensure proper installation and concentricity with your suppressor, we recommend installation by a certified professional. To look at our suppressor compatible muzzle devices, see HERE.
